Samsung has boosted its ATIV lineup with four new Windows 8 devices — ATIV Book 9 Plus and ATIV Book 9 Lite notebooks, ATIV Tab 3 tablet and ATIV One 5 Style all-in-one desktop PC.
Also introduced is a new feature called HomeSync Lite, which transforms the PC’s hard drive into a personal cloud server. HomeSync Lite lets users to backup their personal files, photos and videos from portable devices to PCs and access them remotely via a mobile device anytime, anywhere.
The ATIV Book 9 Plus is the next generation of the ATIV Book 9, which is ultra thin and light. Its aluminium, uni-body design features several enhancements from the previous model, including a Windows 8 optimised touchscreen to give users a choice of inputs and a panel that flips 180 degrees so that users can change or share their perspective easily. The notebook will be available in mineral ash black from Q4 at major consumer electronics and IT stores and Samsung Experience Stores.
The ATIV Book 9 Lite offers the same premium design identity as the Book 9 Plus and features a quad core processor and a 128GB SSD. This allows the Book 9 Lite to boot from cold in less than seven seconds and wake up from sleep in less than one second. It is available in marble white at S$1,199. The ATIV Book 9 Lite Touch will be available in mineral ash black from Q3 and product pricing will be available at a later date.
A tablet with the power of a PC, the ATIV Tab 3 claims to be the world’s thinnest Windows 8 tablet – t only 8mm thick and 550g in weight – and shares the premium design of the Galaxy series. Running on Windows 8 with the ability to run Windows apps and programs, it is preloaded with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. The ATIV Tab 3 will be available in white from Q3.
The ATIV One 5 Style is an all-in-one desktop PC built with the sleek Galaxy design aesthetic. The full HD (1920×1080) touchscreen makes this an ideal PC for viewing photos and videos. As the first all-in-one launched since the expansion of the ATIV brand, the One 5 Style will be available in white from Q3.
SideSync is available on the ATIV line-up, enabling users to switch from working on their PC to an Android-based Samsung smartphone or tablet with simplicity and ease. With SideSync, the user’s PC and mobile device become one. Simply use the PC keyboard to respond to a text on a mobile phone; view maps on a larger screen, display photos and videos on both devices to make editing files even easier; or use an ATIV PC to back up and charge mobile devices. Samsung SideSync comes preloaded in all new ATIV devices.
