Finally, Garmin has added the GPS feature to its Vivosmart range. You’d think that being a company renowned for its GPS technology that GPS would be a staple in most of its products in the first place.
Although the feature’s been available on the higher-end Forerunner range of smartwatches for a while, GPS was glaringly missing from the Vivosmart activity trackers. But that’s water under the bridge. The Vivosmart HR+ is now the first in the line to sport the GPS feature, which lets runners track distance and route on a map when linked to the Garmin Connect app.
There’s one major trade-off though. Battery life will take a hit — down from five days to a mere eight hours if activity-tracking mode is activated.
