IBM snags A$1b Australia government contract

IBM has scored a massive win with a five-year A$1 billion agreement with the Australia government.

Under the agreement, IBM will provide hardware, software and cloud-based solutions, as well as work on joint innovation programmes in quantum computing, cybersecurity and research.

All government agencies can access the financial benefits and technologies. The agreement also improves the current arrangements with agencies that have existing partnerships with IBM, such as the Australian Taxation Office, Department of Defence, Department of Home Affairs, and Department of Human Services. It give these organisations autonomy and flexibility to change the profile of their technology over the next five years.
