Korea’s Muhguri restaurant has added three more robots to serve food to customers. The latest addition brings to the number of robots deployed at the popular Sokcho restaurant to 11.
In 2019, the dining establishment bought its first robots from Pudu Robotics of China.
According to Lee Gwangjo, Owner of Muhguri, the most important factor in choosing Pudu’s robots for the restaurant was labour shortage.
Turning to robots has helped to keep the human waitstaff count low, while fulfilling orders in a timely manner.
The Pudu robots can handle many of the tasks a human can do while serving in a restaurant. Due to their autonomous ability to navigate obstacles, they are able to deliver food to multiple tables throughout the restaurant. Moreover, the robots are able to carry the orders for more than one table, improving efficiency.
