Zoom Video Communications has set up its first Southeast Asia data centre in Singapore — its 18th in the world.

The new centre will plug in to its global network to better connect its users in the region.

As part of this move, Zoom plans to hire more Singapore staff, including engineers and salespersons.

The videoconferencing platform has been highly popular in the island nation since the start of the pandemic when people began working from home. It’s also widely used by 400 schools.
