IFA Special Edition kicks off in Berlin

After so many tech events have either been canned or gone online, the organisers of the highly-popular IFA is holding a 2020 Special Edition physicaly at Berlin exhibition grounds from September 3 to 5.

It may not have the fanfare or the crowds of yesteryears but this marks the first step towards moving exhibitions back in the halls.

“After all those event cancellations, our industry urgently needs this platform in order to present its innovations. Virtual events are certainly helpful, but they lack the emotional connection,” said Jens Heithecker, Director of IFA.

The consumer and home electronics show will feature brands and startups exhibiting their new innovations, particularly smart home applications and products. Also on display are cutting-edge technologies, such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, mixed reality, and robotics.

The number of participants is limited because of pandemic measures.
