DJI Pocket 2 packs new tricks in mini camera

DJI has unleashed the DJI Pocket 2, the sequel to the Osmo Pocket. Coming in a small form factor, the lightweight 4K camera is full of tricks and intelligent features — from Fast Wake for instant power on to 140 minutes of continuous usage, and close-up shots to wide cinematic look using the 20mm f/1.8 lens.

An upgraded focus system locks on to and tracks moving subjects faster and more accurately than before, making this device ideal for action videos. The autofocus feature has been improved using a Hybrid 2.0 AF blend of phase and contrast detection to increase speed and accuracy.

The DJI Matrix Stereo audio system consists of four microphones strategically placed for immersive audio recording. Directional Audio enhances sound recording by picking up as much detail as possible while SoundTrack adjusts the audio based on where the camera is facing.

Audio Zoom narrows the sound field when the camera zooms in. To further filter out unwanted background sounds, an optional wind noise reduction helps keep the audio clean in outdoor settings.

“Whether you are out and about capturing everyday stories or a vlogger who requires more creative flair, the built-in intelligent features and different video templates allow anyone to create cinematic and engaging content. Everyone and anyone can shoot a video, but Pocket 2 can help you capture footage like a pro, taking your visual storytelling skills to a whole new level,” said Roger Luo, President of DJI.

DJI Pocket 2 is available for pre-order from US$349 from store.dji.com and DJI Authorised Resellers across Asia. For local pricing and availability, please go to https://store.dji.com/product/pocket-2.
