Poco Global has marked its announcment of becoming independent from Xiaomi with the launch of the Poco M3, its first entry-level smartphone for the masses.
After shipping more than six million phones in over 35 markets globally within three years, the brand is striking out on its own.
“The Poco philosophy embodies an attitude we all strive for – to be different and confident. As a newly-established independent brand, we’re looking forward to continuing to deliver technology that matters in an ever-evolving world,” said Kevin Qiu, Head of Poco Global.
Despite its entry level pricing, the new M3 is not to be scoofed at. With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset inside, it sports a 48MP triple camera setup, 6,000 mAh battery that lasts more than five days, and a FHD+ smartphone display,
It weights less than 200g and comes in three colours — Cool Blue, Poco Yellow and Power Black.
In Singapore, the device will come in two variants – 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB — in Cool Blue and Power Black. Poco Yellow will be available at a later date. From November 27, the models will be available for purchase online on Xiaomi Official Store Global on Lazada at S$199 and S$219 respectively.
The early bird price is even more attractive — S$179 for the 4GB+64GB model and S$199 for the 4GB+128GB variant while stocks last. Those who purchase the Poco M3 on November 27 will get a free Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic Piston Earphone while stocks last.
