Affordable Vivo Y31s 5G packs big battery and tough build

Vivo has launched in Singapore the Y31s 5G smartphone with a bigger battery, sharper display and tougher build.

The affordable smartphone is designed for everyday users who want dependable performance for work, entertainment and staying connected.

A 6.67-inch FHD Dotch display with a 90Hz refresh rate delivers sharper visuals and smoother scrolling for browsing, streaming and gaming. This is paired with an upgraded 32MP front camera, a significant jump from the previous generation’s 8MP selfie shooter. On the back, the phone carries a 50MP main camera that supports underwater photography for users who want to capture moments in wet conditions.

Battery life is another major selling point. Its 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery is claimed to provide reliable all-day endurance for communication, productivity and entertainment. The phone supports 44W FlashCharge for faster top-ups when power runs low, while reverse charging adds extra flexibility for powering compatible devices. The battery is engineered with five-year battery health support to help maintain stable performance over time.

For everyday performance, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 mobile platform, up to 6GB extended RAM and 256GB of storage. It ships with OriginOS 6 which enables smoother multitasking, faster app launches and a more intuitive software experience. These optimisations contribute to a 50-month smooth experience to keep the device responsive over the long term.

Durability is another key theme. The Y31s 5G measures 8.39mm thin and weighs around 209g, while also offering IP69-rated dust and water resistance. It is certified with SGS Five-Star Drop Resistance, which helps reduce the risk of damage from accidental drops.

Available in Glowing Black and Midnight KL Purple in Singapore, Vivo Y31s 5G is priced at S$399 for the 6GB + 256GB variant. It is available through vivo’s Experience & Service Store at 313@somerset, as well as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, and authorised retailers.
