Singapore has joined 18 other countries, including Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, that can access Facebook Dating, the social media platform’s dating feature.
Interestingly, the service will only be available in the US at the end of the year.
Announced at the company’s F8 Conference, the Secret Crush dating service aims to take friendship a little deeper, letting users pick nine of their friends to be matched with. It only works if the choice is mutual.
The move seems like an effort by Facebook to retain or win over younger users who may be moving to other social media platforms, such as Instagram and Snapchat.
