The COVID-19 pandemic has left a massive impact on the job market with many losing jobs and seeking employment. Compounding this are safe distancing and other measures that make face-to-face job interviews challenging.

Amid this gloomy landscape, FaceCruit is offering those who have lost their job during COVID-19 free video resumes on its online platform, which allows employers and jobseekers to integrate video into existing recruitment and job application processes.

“If you’ve lost your job due to COVID-19, simply jump on to FaceCruit and click on the Jobseeker tab and we’ll show you how you can turbo-charge your CV using cutting edge technology,” said Nick Thompson, Managing Director of FaceCruit.

The aim is to give jobseekers in Australia the opportunity to make a more personal impact with employers through a quick video introduction.

Jobseekers can create an online profile of pre-recorded videos that they can send to employers by embedding their profile link into their digital resume or cover letter.

Employers will be able to see other information the jobseeker has uploaded such as qualifications, accolades, even supporting videos from mentors and referees.

Thompson predicts that pre-recorded interviews will be just as important as the resume when it comes to job applications.

“The job market is expected to be extremely tight over the next few years. In today’s day and age, you can’t simply rely on a two-page resume anymore and research shows that including a video as part of your CV increases your chances of getting shortlisted,” he said.
