Chindata Group has opened Asia’s largest single hyperscale data centre in its Taihang Mountain Energy and Information Technology Industrial Campus in China’s Shanxi province.
With a total IT capacity of 50 megawatts, the data centre supports artificial intelligence-based computing delivered by global tech giants. Each server room has an impressive IT capacity of more than 18 megawatts.
This single data centre features more than 12 tailored pending or approved patents and is equipped with latest technologies, ranging from power distribution network and IT equipment to cooling system and energy utilisation.
Chindata Group has initially employed a self-own 110kV cabin substation and a back-up 35kV substation plus an access to dedicated renewable energy into this campus. With an advanced power system architecture and multiple independent power supply from the State Grid, the Shanxi campus boasts the most reliable power distribution network in China’s data centre industry in response to leading technology companies’ power demands.
One of the world’s most efficient chilled water systems developed by Chindata Group is deployed for the first time to maintain high energy efficiency. It increases the natural cooling time while adapting to 40kW per AI server rack’s working environment requirement.
