Devialet has announced the Devialet Mania portable smart speaker that looks and sounds good.
Mania is engineered with new and existing innovations that enable the speaker to adapt sound to the space it’s in for an expansive 360-degree aural experience.
Active Stereo Calibration (ASC) uses four microphones and embedded intelligence capabilities to automatically adapt the audio rendering to suit its surroundings. When Mania is placed in the centre of a room, the 360-degree stereo mode is automatically activated. If positioned near a wall, two full-range speakers at the rear launch into action to seamlessly reinforce the two speakers at the front, creating an expansive, powerful soundstage for the ultimate portable listening experience.
With four full-range drivers and two SAM-powered sub-woofers (Speaker Active Matching) in a push-push configuration, the portable speaker delivers powerful stereo sound at frequencies as low as 30Hz to as high as 20,000 Hz.
Packed with Amazon Alexa capabilities, Mania is accessible in four languages. Set up is easy using the dedicated Devialet App, which lets listeners use the voice assistant to stream their favourite music and podcasts via Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, Airplay 2, and Spotify Connect.
Its IPX4 water resistance rating and 10-hour battery life make it suitable for use both indoor and outdoor.
The speaker scores high on looks. Its spherical, polished design and woven fabric exudes luxury. Measuring 170mm tall and weighing 2.3kg, Mania comes with a slick handle for easy transportatio and is available in black and grey.
The Mania range includes a Paris Opéra edition, embellished with 24-carat moongold and comes with a docking station for easy charging, also available separately to other Mania models for S$129.
Mania is available for pre-order from November 8 for S$1,360 (black or grey) and S$1,760 for the Paris Opéra edition. It will be available at Devialet’s website and outlets at Marina Bay Sands, Unit #01-07/08 and ION Orchard, Unit 03-11.
