HPE reveals AI security and data protection solutions

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has unveiled a set of AI-driven security and data protection innovations at Black Hat USA 2025.

It also introduced its integrated secure networking portfolio — combining HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking for the first time since the acquisition of Juniper Networks.

HPE’s latest network security advancements include a SASE copilot for HPE Aruba Networking EdgeConnect. The AI-powered assistant leverages agentic intelligence to analyse network and security conditions, and provide actionable insights on open ports, unpatched systems and emerging security gaps.

The expansion of HPE Aruba Networking Central NAC extends zero-trust policy enforcement to covering HPE Juniper and third-party hardware with granular access controls for both users and IoT devices.

On the data protection front, the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 is a scale-out, all-flash object storage platform architected for modern data protection. Designed for industries — such as healthcare, finance, and IT services — where every second counts, it can deliver ultra-fast backup and restore, achieving backup speeds up to 1.2 petabytes per hour. The new solution also integrates with data protection software such as Commvault Cloud, Cohesity NetBackup and soon Veeam Data Platform.

HPE Zerto Software is rolling out a new integration hub to connect third-party cybersecurity solutions with CrowdStrike as the exclusive launch partner. Their integration enables security teams to detect attacks in real time and instantly trigger HPE Zerto to restore applications and data to pre-attack clean states to minimise the impact of ransomware and other advanced threats.

HPE also announced the creation of a new Cybersecurity Center of Excellence focused on storage security. The centre has already validated HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000’s ransomware detection capabilities against the top 25 ransomware strains and is actively working to certify HPE Zerto for stringent US federal cybersecurity standards.

“Across APAC, businesses are facing the escalating threats posed by these attacks in real-time. The future of security lies in AI-driven systems that embed resilience and adaptability at their core,” said Mark Ablett (top), Vice-President of Asia Pacific and Japan at HPE Networking.

“Our new expanded solutions demonstrate HPE’s commitment to supporting and empowering organisations to not only defend against today’s complex threats, but to build a stronger, more proactive security posture for the challenges ahead,” he said.
