Cisco and Tata launch eSIM solution to simplify enterprise IoT

Tata Communications and Cisco are collaborating to transform the way enterprises connect and manage Internet of Things (IoT) devices globally.

The partnership will integrate Tata Communications’ Move intelligent, multigenerational global eSIM orchestration solution with Cisco’s IoT Control Center, a cloud-based device management platform.

The combined offering addresses the persistent challenges enterprises face when managing large, geographically dispersed fleets of IoT devices, such as connected vehicles and industrial sensors, including fragmented SIM hardware, complex device provisioning and limited interoperability across vendor ecosystems.

With the embedding Tata Communications’ global eSIM services directly into Cisco’s platform, enterprises can seamlessly activate and manage devices across multiple SIM providers, networks and eSIM standards from a single, unified interface.

The integration is designed to accelerate time-to-market, improve operational efficiency and give enterprises deep visibility and control over their IoT deployments while reducing integration complexity and avoiding vendor lock-in.

Industries such as transportation, logistics and manufacturing are expected to reap significant benefits. For example, logistics firms can activate IoT-equipped trailers across borders without the need for SIM replacements, and utility companies can monitor infrastructure across diverse networks without device reconfiguration.

“The continuous evolution of eSIM technologies is generating a transformative shift in the way enterprises connect and manage their IoT devices. We are excited to create a foundation for the future of connected enterprises – where they can scale faster, smarter, and with more confidence,” said Marco Bijvelds, Vice President and Global Head of Tata Communications Move.

“As enterprises need greater simplicity, automation and scalability to effectively manage increasingly complex use cases, we see eSIM as a foundational technology. Together, Cisco and Tata Communications are enabling innovation and opening up new opportunities through our joint work on eSIM technology,” said Masum Mir, SVP and GM of Cisco Provider Mobility.
