Tencent Cloud partners Ryt Bank on AI payments

Tencent Cloud is partnering with Malaysia’s Ryt Bank to power a conversational payments platform that lets customers complete transactions using natural‑language commands.

Under the deal, Tencent Cloud’s real‑time messaging infrastructure, Tencent Cloud Chat (IM), forms the backbone of Ryt Bank’s Zero‑UI mobile experience to enable users to send money, pay bills and manage accounts through chat‑style interactions without traditional multi‑screen menus.

The platform supports end‑to‑end encryption and full message auditing to meet strict banking security and compliance standards, while Tencent’s regional network of more than 3,200 edge nodes helps keep latency low even during high‑concurrency transaction peaks.

“This collaboration highlights our commitment to empower local businesses in Malaysia and across the region to build the next generation of services by providing the robust and high-speed infrastructure they need to create enhanced customer experiences,” said Kenneth Siow, Regional Director of Southeast Asia and General Manager for Singapore & Malaysia at Tencent Cloud International.

“The Tencent Cloud Chat (IM) feature was straightforward to integrate, providing the stable, low-latency communication required to handle high-concurrency transactions smoothly, which is fundamental to our growth and our ability to strengthen customer trust,” said Wilson Soon, Interim CEO of Ryt Bank.

Licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia, Ryt Bank reported 50,000 active users on its first day and has grown to more than 1.2 million users within seven months, nearly half of whom are regularly using its AI assistant, Ryt AI, which is backed by the Malaysia‑developed sovereign LLM ILMU.
