Blaize and Sphere AX drive physical AI in Korea

Blaize and Sphere AX are joining hands to push physical AI forward in Korea. The partnership combines Blaize’s AI semiconductor technology and Sphere AX’s expertise in vision AI and edge computing, with plans to develop and commercialise products for smart cities, smart factories, industrial safety, security, robotics, and mobility.

Physical AI, also called embodied AI, refers to systems that can perceive the world, make decisions and take action in real environments rather than only generating digital output. This is especially important for use cases that depend on low-latency processing, real-time sensing and local decision-making, such as robots, autonomous systems, factory automation, and city infrastructure.

The collaboration is intended not just as a technology partnership but as a step toward producing commercial AI products in Korea.

“Korea is a strategically important market, combining global technology leadership with the speed to bring new AI solutions to market. Through our partnership with Sphere AX, we’ll create new growth opportunities and expand the reach of our platform from Asia into the global market,” said Dinakar Munagala, CEO of Blaize.

“We will continue to expand various global businesses so that Korea can grow into a key production hub in the global edge AI market,” Yunha Park, CEO of Sphere AX.

Big in Korea

South Korea is committed to building the physical AI market around factories, robots, logistics, and other real-world systems that need AI to sense, decide and act on the ground. The government unveiled in March a domestic physical AI integrated platform and outlined a strategy to develop the technology through demonstration, industry diffusion and overseas expansion.

It is pushing connect AI software with AI semiconductors and manufacturing strength. Plans include a low-power computing platform based on AI semiconductors, a robot foundation model, and a world model for training and virtual testing, all designed to support physical AI applications in manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, safety, care, and home services.
