NetApp has released StorageGRID 12.1 to help enterprises manage and process massive volumes of unstructured data for AI and other modern workloads.
The update aims to improve performance, simplify operation and support distributed hybrid environments as enterprises build larger data pipelines.
A global federated namespace lets enterprises manage multiple StorageGRID systems in a single namespace at scales reaching up to 10 exabytes. This reduces the need to re-architect applications or workflows while making globally distributed object storage easier to govern.
StorageGRID 12.1 can deliver up to 12 TB/s of throughput to AI factories and up to 400 percent higher throughput than StorageGRID 12.0, depending on workload and object size. It adds batch operations for billions of objects and new capabilities that help AI agents track changes in object storage buckets since the last scan.
Security and governance features have also gotten an upgrade as the release includes multi-admin verification to help regulated enterprises protect data while continuing to innovate across AI and analytics use cases.
“With StorageGRID 12.1, NetApp is extending the power of our data platform, giving customers a globally unified namespace to manage data at scale, accelerate AI and analytics workloads, and extract more value from their data wherever it lives,” said Sandeep Singh (top), Senior Vice President and General Manager of Platform at NetApp.
