When it comes to work, my laptop goes with me to multiple places – home, office, coffee joints, hotels, and airports. With so much movement, its size, weight and performance matters lots to me.
After spending some time with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14″, Gen 11), I’ve found a worthy successor to my current laptop. It checks all the boxes for anyone needing power, portability and polish without compromise.
Lenovo uses the word “Aura” to describe a more polished, intelligent and premium experience with smarter power tuning, collaboration features, and convenience tools meant to make the laptop feel more adaptive in daily use.
In the age of AI, the device is also positioned as an AI-first, experience-led version of the Yoga, not just another thin-and-light laptop.

Here are five reasons why I love the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14″, Gen 11):
1. So light you can bring it anywhere
Many laptops are designed to be used on the go but this one hits the sweet spot for me. It weighs under 1kg (just 975g to be precise) and is only 13.9mm thick. That’s lighter and slimmer than most notebooks in this class.
Its thixomolded magnesium aluminum alloy cladding keeps it not just thin but durable, having passed MIL STD 810H military grade testing for everyday bumps and handling.
The soft touch finish has an anti fingerprint and water repellent coating that stays clean and looks professional even after hours of use.
2. A display that works anywhere
While I use my laptop in bright environments most of the time, there are times when I need to turn it on in dark conference rooms, auditoriums or stadiums during media events. The machine’s 14 inch 2.8K POLED PureSight Pro touch display, running at 120Hz with a productive 16:10 aspect ratio does the job anytime, anywhere. Colours are spot on with 100 percent sRGB and 100 percent DCI P3 coverage, while brightness hits 1100 nits peak — bright enough to see clearly even under direct sunlight.

It also supports Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR True Black 1000, and is Eyesafe 2.0 certified to make it easy on the eyes during long sessions. The glass is strengthened with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for extra protection.
3. Real AI that works anytime – online and offline
AI isn’t just a buzzword slapped on this laptop. It’s built into the core with the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (up to X9 388H), a dedicated NPU 5 engine delivering up to 50 TOPS and integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics. The Copilot+ PC-designated device has a dedicated Copilot key right on the keyboard to bring AI tools up instantly.
What does this mean in practice? Zero Touch & Windows Hello leverages the 5MP IR camera to detect when you walk away to lock the screen, and log you back in automatically when you return. There’s also a physical electronic shutter to cut power to the lens for total privacy. Smart Audio enables AI noise cancellation so you sound and hear clearly in calls. With Aura Smart Modes, six adaptive modes automatically adjust settings, block distractions and tune performance to what you are doing. And Smart Share lets you quickly transfer photos or pair Bluetooth accessories by simply tapping your phone against the laptop.
All AI tasks run locally where possible, so your data stays private and responses feel instant. And if you’re game, try running a local LLM on it. I did and it works nicely. Why local LLM? It’s secure because it’s run offline and you can tap on your own resources to generate intelligence.
4. Performance and battery that lasts the day
Under the hood, the 64GB LPDDR5x 9600 RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage provide more than enough grunt for heavy spreadsheets, browser tabs, photo editing, and multitasking. Connectivity is fast too with Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and three USB-C ports.
The 75Wh battery delivers up to 14 hours real world mixed use. Rapid Charge Express delivers three hours of runtime with just 15 minutes of charging.
5. Keyboard to keep you typing
If you spend hours writing emails, reports or notes, a good keyboard makes all the difference. This laptop’s six‑row backlit design with 1.5mm of key travel strikes the perfect balance between being firm enough to feel responsive and soft and quiet enough when working in quiet spaces or at night.
What could have been better
While there are lots to love about the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14″, Gen 11), no laptop is perfect. Sporting only USB-C ports, it’s a slight inconvenience when USB A or HDMI connections are needed. Lenovo solves this by providing an adapter.

The next area of improvement is minor for most but why provide a black charger to accompany a white laptop and white mouse? Just spoils the look.
Verdict
Priced from S$2,284.27, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14″, Gen 11) is for those who value portability, weight, performance, and look. It’s light enough to carry everywhere, smart enough with its AI tools to save you time, powerful enough to handle serious work, and built to last. If you want a laptop that truly fits hybrid work and travel, this is worth putting at the top of your list.
