Nozomi and Sophos integrate IT and OT security ops

Nozomi Networks and Sophos are partnering to integrate Nozomi Networks Vantage with Sophos Fusion, combining operational technology (OT) security intelligence with IT security data to improve visibility and threat detection across industrial environments.

Nozomi Networks Vantage is a cloud-native, AI-enabled platform that provides operational technology, Internet of Things and cyber-physical systems security, while Sophos Fusion is an AI-native cybersecurity defence system.

The integration will feed Nozomi’s OT telemetry, asset intelligence and threat data directly into Sophos Fusion. Security teams will be able to correlate the information with data from endpoint, network, cloud, and identity systems without switching between security consoles.

The partnership addresses growing risks to critical infrastructure, as nation-state groups and cybercriminals increasingly target OT and industrial environments. Many OT outages are said to begin with a compromise of an organisation’s IT environment.

“The intersection of IT and OT environments has long been misunderstood by the cybersecurity industry, leading to inefficiencies and potential danger for critical infrastructure,” said Matt Cowell (top left), Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Nozomi Networks. who added that the partnership helps solve these problems by seamlessly integrating OT intelligence into IT security investigations so teams have the full picture when assessing their increasingly expanding attack surface.

The partnership is expected to help security operations centres improve investigation quality through additional context and data correlation, reduce manual processes and console switching, and automate enrichment and response through security orchestration, automation and response workflows.

“Defenders need every resource they can to combat sophisticated threat actors,” said Chris Bell (top right), Senior Vice President of Global Channel and Alliances at Sophos. “This partnership helps security teams easily assess OT and IT vulnerabilities in one place, allowing them to take action much faster.”
