Equinix has unveiled two offerings that accelerate enterprise AI deployment and simplify connectivity across distributed environments.
Launched in collaboration with NVIDIA and Together AI at the inaugural Equinix Horizon event, Equinix Inference Exchange delivers a distributed AI inference programme combining NVIDIA’s Enterprise Reference Architectures, Together AI’s open-model platform supporting more than 200 open-source models, and Equinix’s global data centre footprint spanning 280 plus facilities across 77 metros.
The solution aims to streamline enterprises’ journey from AI experimentation to production and bring inference workloads closer to users, data and applications for improved performance, governance and cost efficiency.
“Equinix Inference Exchange will enable architectures that are neutral by design, open by default and engineered for exceptional performance,” said Adaire Fox-Martin, CEO and President of Equinix.
“Equinix Inference Exchange turns the world’s leading digital interconnection platform into a global fabric for AI inference,” said Raj Mirpuri, Vice President of Global AI Clouds and Infrastructure Ecosystem at NVIDIA.
“What we are building with Equinix and NVIDIA proves that model choice and performance are not trade-offs. They are the foundation of enterprise AI done right,” added Vipul Ved Prakash, Co-Founder and CEO of Together AI.
Available from Q1 2027, the solution supports metro edge deployment, open-model migration away from proprietary lock-in, and sovereign AI workloads meeting data residency requirements.
Intent-driven any-to-any connectivity
Also introduced was the Equinix Fabric One managed connectivity service built with AWS and Google Cloud to deliver automated, any-to-any connectivity across clouds, AI environments and enterprise networks.
Built on open interconnect specifications, Fabric One lets enterprises simply define what needs connecting and the service automatically orchestrates routing, encryption, resiliency, and failover as a single managed service.
“Equinix Fabric One will reduce the complexity that’s slowing enterprises down by automatically managing connectivity across distributed architectures, based on the customer’s intent,” said Chris Audie, Chief Product Officer of Equinix.
“Fabric One builds on the open interconnect specification that AWS and Google Cloud helped define and delivers exactly that. A managed service that handles the complexity so customers can focus on their AI workloads, not how everything connects,” said Robert Kennedy, Vice President of AWS Network Services.
Rob Enns, Vice President of Engineering, Cloud Networking, Google Cloud, added, “We are giving customers an automated, intent-driven network that lets them quickly deploy distributed AI workloads.”
Fabric One enters beta later in 2026 with general availability planned initially for North America for 2027.
