TrendAI has promoted cybersecurity industry veteran Soffenny Yap to Country Manager of Singapore.
She will lead the company’s strategy, growth and customer and partner relationships in Singapore, one of Southeast Asia’s most digitally advanced and cybersecurity-focused markets.
She previously led enterprise and public sector sales at TrendAI, where she developed relationships with major Singapore organisations and government agencies. Before joining the company, Yap headed security services sales at IBM where she worked with enterprises and public bodies to strengthen their security posture.
Yap also holds several leadership positions across Singapore’s cybersecurity ecosystem — as Secretary of the Association of Information Security Professionals, Chairman of the IoT Special Interest Group at the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace and International Studies, and Vice President for the DDAS PMEs and DDASCares initiatives at the Digital Defence Alliance Singapore. In these roles, she has supported cybersecurity awareness, digital defence and the development of local cyber talent.
“Having worked alongside Singapore’s businesses, government agencies and cybersecurity community for years, I know the appetite is there to get this right. I look forward to helping our customers and partners build the visibility and resilience they need to stay ahead of the threat,” said Yap.
, said Yap’s appointment demonstrated the strength of the company’s internal leadership pipeline.
“Soffenny’s appointment reflects the strength of the leaders we grow from within. She pairs a deep understanding of Singapore’s enterprises and public sector with genuine standing across the country’s cybersecurity community,” said Dhanya Thakkar, Senior Vice President of AMEA at TrendAI.
