Anthropic will open an office in Singapore in October as it expands its presence across the Asia-Pacific region. To staff the new office, the company is hiring for a range of roles in Singapore.
Singapore will be Anthropic’s fifth office in the region, following existing offices in Bengaluru, Seoul, Sydney, and Tokyo.
The move comes as demand for Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant grows among enterprises. Singapore ranked second among 121 countries for Claude.ai usage relative to population in Anthropic’s latest Economic Index, with usage 5.81 times higher than would be expected based on its population.
“As we grow across Asia-Pacific, opening an office in Singapore — where Claude usage per capita is among the highest in the world — is a natural next step,” said Chris Ciauri, Managing Director of International at Anthropic. “A presence here means we can hire the people who know this market best, and work side by side with local customers and partners building with Claude.”
Anthropic will work with organisations ranging from startups and digital-native companies to large enterprises and public-sector bodies. Demand has been especially strong in regulated industries such as financial services and government.
The company has appointed Dale Finlay (top) as General Manager of Asean. Based in Singapore, Finlay will lead work with customers and partners across Southeast Asia. He previously held go-to-market leadership positions at technology companies in the Asia-Pacific region, including nearly a decade at Google Cloud, where his responsibilities covered AI, financial services and enterprise customers.
“From working with customers across Southeast Asia, I’ve seen that ambition isn’t the blocker to AI adoption — trust is,” said Finlay. “Once that trust exists, the real work is embedding AI into how the business actually operates.”
“Anthropic has built Claude around exactly those standards, and I look forward to working with customers here as they bring Claude into their most important work,” he added.
Anthropic said Singapore’s concentration of technical talent, global businesses and research institutions, together with its focus on responsible AI adoption, aligns with the company’s approach to innovation and safety.
