Meta has unveiled Ray-Ban Meta Audio at Connect 2026. It is Meta’s first pair of glasses that does not have a camera and is packed with just speakers, microphones and an AI assistant. At 43 grams, they are also its lightest and slimmest AI glasses yet. They last up to 12 hours on a single charge, with up to 48 more hours from the case. Singapore price and timing will follow at a later date.
The launch lands in a rapidly evolving market. A recent Omdia research report shows that global AI glasses shipments reached 4.2 million units in the first half of 2026, a 127 percent year-on-year increase. Meta shipped 3.4 million units, an 81.3 percent of the market share.
Meta has not pitched the new pair as a privacy product. Audio has simply been its most popular feature since day one.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), which keeps the camera, is on sale in Singapore from SGD 669. It runs slimmer than before and can last up to nine hours per charge. A new six-microphone array cuts over 90 percent of background noise and a built-in LED light tells people nearby when the wearer takes photos or video.
Meta is also at work to bring Muse to its glasses. Once available, the personal AI agent will be able to check flight prices, book appointments and log meals without a phone. Muse will run in the background and check back once a task is done. Meta also plans to bring Private Processing to its glasses so your data stays hidden, even from Meta.
Further out, Meta VR Glasses arrive in Spring 2027 with Singapore price yet to be announced. Weighing about 100 grams, the device offers a private multi-screen workspace and can link to a Mac or Windows PC.
