NVIDIA to acquire Mellanox

NVIDIA has reached a US$6.9 billion agreement to acquire Mellanox, a supplier of end-to-end Ethernet and smart interconnect solutions and services for servers and storage. The transaction will impact the high performance computing (HPC) space where NVIDIA’s computing platform and Mellanox’s interconnects power more than 250 of the world’s TOP500 supercomputers.
