Taiwan’s National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has done it again — winning the ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge for the second year running. It outperformed more than 300 teams from prestigious universities around the world to top the online competition.
ASC of China is one of the top worldwide supercomputer competitions for university teams, ranking alongside with SCC of the United States, and ISC of Germany.
According to the NTHU team’s advisor Professor Jerry Chou (pictured front row left), supercomputer competitions hone students’ ability to use software and hardware in solving various real-world problems.
Participants must have a strong knowledge of various related fields and know how to apply it in different situations.
This year’s team comprised (front row, from second left) team caption Wang Tzuwen, Chang Chenghsun and coach Hsiao Yicheng; (back row from left) Mou Chanyu, Chiang Liyuan and Huang Wenyuan.
