Xero has unveiled XeroForce, a natural language custom AI agent builder designed to automate the financial workflows of small businesses and accountants without requiring any coding expertise. Announced today, the platform allows users to build custom agents on top of Xero and third-party apps already used, with Xero positioned as the hub and core financial operating system.
A platform that brings accounting, payroll and payments in a single environment, Xero provides small businesses the platform to automate routine tasks and surface timely insights. XeroForce extends this foundation by layering agentic automation across the platform and its broader app ecosystem.
Built from ground-up with logic specific to small business finance, XeroForce supports workflows such as month-end close, ongoing reporting, organising tax documents, purchase order validation, and payrun approvals. Agents can be deployed using simple natural language prompts and run as always-on processes, completing tasks in the background over days or weeks while waiting on events like email replies or filing dates. Every action is logged and traceable, an audit-trail capability the company says is essential for compliance and client trust. For accountants managing hundreds of clients, XeroForce also enables bulk action at practice-wide scale rather than one conversation at a time.

XeroForce is powered by Xero OS, the company’s AI-native financial operating system. The platform is currently in alpha on an invite-only basis, with general availability planned for later in 2026.
