Canva is rolling out a Connected App for Google Gemini that lets users generate, edit and publish fully on‑brand visuals without leaving the Gemini environment.
The integration enables Gemini users to call up Canva with a simple @Canva prompt and instantly generate editable designs tied to their existing brand kits. This is a boon for teams that struggle to keep AI‑generated content consistent with corporate identity.
“You can only experience the true potential of AI when it’s connected to your brand and your context. Millions of people turn to Gemini for ideation and research, but they miss that brand, context & design that only Canva brings,” said Cameron Adams, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Canva.
“Having the full power of Canva’s platform right in Gemini makes it seamless to turn AI-generated content into polished work that’s ready to scale,” he added.
The pairing of Google’s Nano Banana image model with Canva’s Magic Layers tool is a major plus. Instead of being stuck with flat, uneditable AI images, users can now convert Nano Banana outputs into layered, movable elements inside Canva. No more re‑prompting is required for minor tweaks, giving creators full control to refine, resize and repurpose assets.
The move completes Canva’s expansion across all major AI assistants, joining earlier integrations with Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.
Canva Connected App for Gemini started rolling out in select markets from May 19, with broader availability to follow.
