Meta rolls out Muse Image across its apps

Meta is doubling down on generative AI with the launch of the Muse Image tool for creating images. Already live in Meta AI, it will soon roll out across Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger.

Built by Meta Superintelligence Labs, this is the group’s first dedicated image-generation model capable of turning simple text prompts into visuals, letting users tweak and refine their creations, and even producing images with clear, readable text.

Unlike other AI tools, Muse Image is not released as a separate app or service. Instead, Meta is embedding it directly into its existing platforms, so it becomes a regular part of everyday use — available inside chats, Stories, and feeds.

In the coming weeks, Meta will open Muse Image to advertisers through its Advantage+ creative tools. That means Meta is designing it to work for both casual users and businesses, fitting into its larger plan to turn generative AI into a way to grow engagement and revenue.

For users, the feature makes creating and sharing original content faster and simpler, which helps keep people spending more time inside Meta’s apps. At the same time, it raises the stakes for competitors, as image generation becomes an increasingly important way to hold onto audiences.
