Parler axes CEO

Parler CEO John Matze has been fired by the company’s board.

According to his memo to staff (reported by Fox News), Matze noted that on January 29, 2021, “the Parler board controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler. I did not participate in this decision.”

The social media platform, widely used by Trump supporters, had its service taken offline by Big Tech companies.

While its website has returned online, there is still no certain timeline on when its service will be restored after having its plug pulled by Amazon Web Servies. Apple and Google also removed the app from their stores.

It looks like Matze will not be put down so easily. “This is not a goodbye. Just a so long for now,” he posted on LinkedIn.
