Startups in Singapore and around the region have another opportunity for success. Infineon Technologies has nearly doubled the size of its popular Co-Innovation Space to provide room for more startups to work on projects using its technologies.
Launched in 2018, The space functions like a hub where startups receive semiconductor technology support, guidance, and mentorship on product development.
Under a 12-month programme with Infineon, startups benefit from being able to tap on Infineon’s ecosystem, including customers and business partners, in countries where Infineon has a presence.

“I hope that in time to come, coming up with the Co-Innovation Space ecosystem will be a strong pipeline of unicorns that will address bold statements of today and tomorrow,” said Low Yen Ling, Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, who was the guest-of-honour at OktoberTech.
Over the past five years, the Co-Innovation Space has housed 13 startups, some of which have developed products that are now in the market.
One of them is Tack One, which today launched the Tack EVO FloodFinder, the world’s first palm-sized, autonomous flood detection device with integrated high-precision water level sensing and internet connectivity capabilities.
The solar-powered and weather-resilient device monitors water levels with unparalleled accuracy, and is powered by Infineon Technologies’ sensor technology.

“In this age of climate boiling, extreme weather changes have become frequent and unpredictable. Location technology, combined with IoT, must come to the fore as we develop game-changing applications in disaster management to save lives and livelihoods. With Infineon Technologies as our partner, our Tack EVO FloodFinder is a testament to how location intelligence has massive room for various applications to transform the way we live, protect human lives and safeguard the communities we care about,” said Justin Zhang (right), CEO of Tack One.
The Singapore-developed innovation may be rolled out in Nonthaburi, Thailand, as soon as late 2023 to assist rural areas prone to widespread flooding, which has devastated livelihoods in recent years.
Korean collaboration
At OktoberTech, Infineon also announced a collaboration with Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) to drive Asia’s innovation ecosystem in solutions for decarbonisation and digitalisation.
KOSME will introduce Korean startups with innovative solutions to Infineon for evaluation and assessment of their engineering needs. Chosen startups can either join the Infineon global startup co-innovation program in Korea or become a resident partner at the Co-Innovation Space in Singapore.

“We are facing a future dependent on game-changing solutions for green and efficient energy, smart and secure IoT, and clean and safe mobility. Today’s announcement of a larger Co-Innovation Space and our partnership with KOSME reaffirms our commitment to shaping a sustainable future with our ecosystem,” said CS Chua (right), President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific.
