Dell and Meta partner to enhance on-premise AI deployment

Dell Technologies and Meta have joined forces to simplify and enhance on-premises AI deployments. The collaboration aims to empower Dell customers by seamlessly integrating Meta’s Llama 2 models into Dell’s generative AI portfolio, spanning IT infrastructure, client devices and professional services.

Generative AI deployments can spread over multiple locations with many organisations are prioritising on-premises solutions because of critical considerations related to data privacy, security of IP and the impact of data gravity.

“The integration of Meta’s Llama 2 models into Dell’s generative AI portfolio will help organisations accelerate their digital transformation, enhancing how they engage with customers, employees and the market more broadly to turn valuable insights into action,” said Chris Kelly, Senior Vice President of Data Center Sales, Asia Pacific and Japan at Dell Technologies.

The collaboration streamlines the on-premises AI environment by combining Dell’s infrastructure portfolio with the Llama 2 family of AI models. Customers now have the flexibility to drive their generative AI initiatives in traditional data centres or at edge locations, with Dell’s system sizing tools guiding them towards optimal solutions for Llama 2-based AI efforts.

Dell’s validated design for generative AI with Meta’s Llama 2 provides a comprehensive solution, offering pre-tested and proven infrastructure, software, and services to expedite the deployment and management of on-premises projects. The inclusion of fully documented deployment and configuration guidance ensures organisations can establish their generative AI infrastructure swiftly and operate Llama 2 with increased predictability.
