MBC journeys towards digital transformation

Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) has embarked on a journey towards digital transformation. Collaborating with PLDT Enterprise and its ICT subsidiary, ePLDT, the broadcaster is harnessing the potential of Google Workspace (GWS) to evolve into a versatile multimedia hub.

The move is In response to the evolving landscape where audiences are gravitating towards digital platforms. MBC is leveraging GWS as a pivotal element in its metamorphosis from a conventional radio entity into a multi-faceted content-centric corporation.

“The media business has been changing. A lot of audiences now are in the digital space, so we have to transform and become a platform that embraces new technology to reach this market segment,” said Ruperto Nicdao, President of MBC.

With the establishment of a dedicated Digital Media Department, it aims not only to fortify its existing business model but also to diversify its content offerings beyond traditional radio broadcasts.

Sasha Elizalde-Del Rosario, AVP and Head of Digital Marketing at Manila Broadcasting Company, is excited about this digital leap, highlighting the company’s commitment to evolving while maintaining its legacy as a prime source of news, information and entertainment.

Supported by PLDT Enterprise’s array of services, MBC is embracing GWS tools such as Gmail for business, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, and Docs, fostering greater collaboration and productivity within the organisation.

In embracing digital transformation, MBC is poised to redefine its role in the media landscape, propelled by innovation and a commitment to engaging audiences in the evolving digital sphere.
