LG unveils game-changing transparent OLED TV

By Edward Lim

The LG OLED T is more than just a TV. It’s simply a work of art that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings.

Unlike traditional black screens, this transparent wonder blends with any home decor. When turned off, it is nearly invisible, creating a sense of openness and spaciousness in the living area.

The transparent OLED screen opens up a world of possibilities for placement within a room. It be stand in the middle of the room, act as a divider, or even be propped against a window without obstructing the view.

What’s best is that LG has also taken care of cable clutter. With the Zero Connect Box, utilising LG’s advanced wireless transmission technology, users can place the TV anywhere.

The modular design of the LG OLED T offers various installation options, including stand-alone, against-the-wall, or wall-mount configurations.

LG’s transparent OLED introduces dual viewing experiences – transparent and opaque. The Always-On-Display (AOD) feature turns the OLED T into a transparent digital canvas for showcasing artwork, videos, or photos. The T-Bar feature, displaying news alerts or weather updates along the lower part of the screen provides a clear view of the space behind.

Unveiled at CES 2024, The LG OLED T utilises the new α (Alpha) 11 AI processor, offering four times greater AI performance, 70 percent improvement in graphic performance, and 30 percent faster processing speed compared to its predecessor.

“LG’s transparent OLED gives customers greater freedom to curate their living spaces, completely redefining what’s possible and pointing the way to an exciting future for the television industry,” said Park Hyoung-sei, President of LG Home Entertainment Company.
