Fortinet releases Wi-Fi 7 access point for enhanced connectivity

Fortinet has announced the FortiAP 441K Wi-Fi 7 access point, which pairs with the FortiSwitch T1024 to deliver increased speed and capacity demanded by today’s enterprises.

Wi-Fi 7 is the latest generation of wireless technology that promises lightning-fast connections, faster data transfer, lower latency, and improved load balancing. While these advancements are crucial for data-heavy applications and wireless devices, they also bring new security challenges.

Fortinet’s secure networking solution addresses these challenges by seamlessly integrating Wi-Fi 7 with AI-powered security services. This approach ensures that enterprises not only benefit from the increased speed and performance of Wi-Fi 7 but also maintain robust security, visibility, and control over their wireless traffic.

“With today’s news, we’re putting the latest wireless technology breakthrough into the hands of customers, who can now take advantage of Wi-Fi 7’s increased throughput while keeping their wireless traffic secure and their business efficient,” said John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer of Fortinet.

FortiAP 441K boasts up to 2x faster connection speeds, support for 4096 QAM for faster data transfer, lower latency with 320MHz channels, and improved load balancing.

“The Qualcomm Networking Pro 1220 platform in the FortiAP 441K is designed to set new benchmarks for enterprise networking performance with massive capacity, wire-like stability and blazing fast speeds, pushing the boundaries of what Wi-Fi can do in the modern enterprise,” said Ganesh Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Infrastructure and Networking at Qualcomm Technologies.
