Adobe has rolled out the beta of its AI Assistant generative AI-powered conversational engine in Reader and Acrobat.
Available for Acrobat Individual, Pro, and Teams customers, as well as Acrobat Pro trial users, AI Assistant provides a conversational interface for tasks such as recommending and answering questions based on PDF content, generating summaries, creating intelligent citations, enabling easy navigation through clickable links, and formatting information for various purposes.
Users can also use the tool with different document formats such as Word and PowerPoint.
Adobe ensures data security by following protocols, with no customer document content stored or used for training without consent.
AI Assistant leverages the same artificial intelligence and machine learning models behind Acrobat Liquid Mode. These proprietary models provide a deep understanding of PDF structure and content, enhancing quality and reliability in AI Assistant outputs.
“Generative AI offers the promise of more intelligent document experiences by transforming the information inside PDFs into actionable knowledge and professional-looking content,” said Abhigyan Modi, Senior Vice President of Document Cloud at Adobe.
Reader desktop customers in English will get to try out beta in the next few weeks at no additional cost.
Once out of beta, AI Assistant will be available through a new add-on subscription plan for Reader and Acrobat customers.
