NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC) will be returning as a physical show after a four-year haitus due to the pandemic.
Started in 2009, the annual global conference for AI developers, engineers, researchers, inventors, and IT professionals, turned virtual in 2020 because of COVID-19.
More than 300,000 attendees are expected to attend either in person at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center or virtually from March 18 to 21, 2024.
NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang will kick off the event with a livestreamed keynote from SAP Center on March 18 at 1pm Pacific time. He will highlight NVIDIA’s pivotal role in the AI revolution.
Focusing on generative AI (GenAI) and breakthroughs across diverse industries, GTC 2024 will feature 900 sessions and more than 300 exhibitors. Notable speakers include Brad Lightcap of OpenAI, Vincent Vanhoucke of Google DeepMind, and Joelle Pineau of Meta.
The conference will host more than 1,000 organisations, including industry giants such as Adobe, Amazon and Lockheed Martin, showcasing how they leverage NVIDIA platforms for innovation.
Attendees can explore cutting-edge demos and witness the latest in autonomous vehicle technology, robotics and GenAI. The GenAI Pavilion will feature an interactive installation by AI artist Refik Anadol and a demo of Cuebric, a generative AI tool for filmmakers.
The research-focused segment includes insights from NVIDIA Chief Scientist Bill Dally, a fireside chat on AI-based reasoning, and discussions on the promise of smaller models and the future of foundation models. Huang will moderate a panel discussion on transforming AI with all eight authors of the influential paper Attention Is All You Need on transformers.
GTC 2024 provides diverse learning and development opportunities, from technical workshops to professional certification in generative AI. Policymakers can engage in discussions on AI regulation, while startups can explore NVIDIA Inception’s interactive pavilion featuring demos from more than 150 startups.
The conference also caters to the venture capital community with sessions such as Global Strategies: Startups, Venture Capital and Climate Change Solutions, offered through the NVIDIA VC Alliance programme.
An addition this year is the support for AI in academia, offering curated sessions to help educators integrate NVIDIA technologies into classrooms and courses.
