OpenAI has just made using ChatGPT easier for all. The generative AI (GenAI) chatbot is now free to use without creating an account.
ChatGPT kicked off the GenAI craze when it was first introduced in 2022. Today, more than 100 million people across 185 countries use the tool weekly for a host of tasks, including writing email, generating proposals and suggesting travel itineraries.
“It’s core to our mission to make tools like ChatGPT broadly available so that people can experience the benefits of AI. We’re rolling this out gradually, with the aim to make AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities,” wrote an OpenAI blog post.
To protect users accessing without signing up, OpenAI has introduced additional content safeguards such as blocking prompts and generations in a wider range of categories.
Those who create an account to access benefit from the ability to save and review chat history, share chat, and unlock additional features such as voice conversations and custom instructions.
