Snowflake has released Snowflake Data Clean Rooms to help enterprises better handle and share sensitive data across cloud platforms.
The platform offers a secure environment for enterprises to collaborate and share data while preserving privacy, a crucial aspect in today’s data-driven landscape.
This announcement comes on the heels of Snowflake’s acquisition of Samooha, a data clean room technology provider, whose solution is now integrated into Snowflake’s Data Cloud. Enterprises can benefit from enhanced security and compliance features alongside seamless interoperability.
The new platform democratises data clean room technology, which was previously accessible mainly to large organisations with specialised technical expertise.
Initially embraced by media and entertainment companies, data clean room technology is gaining momentum across highly regulated sectors such as financial services and healthcare. Its ability to facilitate secure collaboration on sensitive data makes it invaluable in navigating regulatory challenges and delivering personalised experiences for customers.
“Snowflake Data Clean Rooms allows customers to unlock high value business outcomes with their data, all while ensuring data stays private and secure,” said Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, Samooha Co-Founder and Snowflake Data Clean Rooms Director of Product Management.
Snowflake Data Clean Rooms is available as a Snowflake Native App so enterprises of any size can swiftly deploy cross-cloud data clean rooms.
