Singtel brings next-gen fibre connectivity to every room

Wi-fi blindspots could become a thing of the past following the launch of Singtel’s FibreEverywhere home broadband solution in Singapore.

Known as Fibre To The Room, the innovative technology features Huawei’s transparent fibre optic cables that provides high-speed and reliable internet connection to devices such as laptops and smartphones in every room.

A significant upgrade from traditional fibre optic connectivity, it addresses common connectivity issues such as wi-fi dead zones and slow Wi-Fi speeds. Moreover, it can be easily installed without homeowners needing to make any structural adjustments to their homes.

FibreEverywhere delivers more than 1Gbps wi-fi speed to every room, which is up to twice to thrice faster than basic wi-fi 6 routers. The installation of the new fibre optic cables and routers is available at a promotional price from S$109 per month for connectivity in two rooms, and S$20 per month for every additional room.

“With FibreEverywhere, users can now enjoy ultra-fast, stable connectivity that is more reliable than anything in the market today. This breakthrough in fibre technology removes obstacles to connectivity like awkward floor layouts, concrete walls and even corners around a home – enabling users to enjoy optimal digital experiences at home,” said Jennifer Ng, Vice President of Customer Value, Fixed Broadband and Content Marketing at Singtel Singapore.

As more consumers engage in high bandwidth activities such as streaming 8K high-definition movies, virtual reality immersive experiences or setting up smart homes with many interconnected digital devices, Singtel expects to see growing adoption of such advanced connectivity solutions.

Installation of FibreEverywhere is quick and simple. Singtel installers begin with a personalised site survey, mapping out the optimal fibre installation route and recommending the best spots for equipment placement within the home.

Transparent optic cables are then run along walls, door frames and skirting, seamlessly integrating with the home’s aesthetics and eliminating the need for unsightly wire concealment.
