Hitachi Vantara has completed a strategic realignment to accelerate its growth plan and better position itself to capitalise on emerging market opportunities in hybrid cloud and generative AI (GenAI).
The restructuring involves the integration of Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi’s IT Platform Products Management Division, which has been responsible for the development, research and production of data infrastructure solutions. This brings together Hitachi Vantara’s extensive experience in infrastructure and data storage across manufacturing and hybrid cloud with Hitachi’s expertise in driving meaningful business outcomes through collaboration.
The realigned Hitachi Vantara will now be better equipped to innovate and adapt to market needs in real-time, building upon its long-standing expertise in managing data across mission-critical environments. It comes at a pivotal time when the emergence of technologies such as GenAI has led to an explosive growth in data processing requirements.
“The rise of generative AI and the explosion in data processing power are pushing the pace of change, and many organisations are struggling to keep up. This next phase of business transformation is designed to help us accelerate our execution and scale our business to identify and capitalise on market opportunities in real-time,” said Sheila Rohra (top), CEO of Hitachi Vantara.
The extension of development, manufacturing, sales, and delivery capabilities will strengthen Hitachi Vantara’s ability to provide customers with the AI-driven data performance, reliability, and resiliency they need across their hybrid cloud environments.
As part of the new restructuring, Akinobu Shimada, formerly President of Hitachi’s IT Platform Products Management Division, has been appointed as Chairman of Hitachi Vantara.
“Our strong partnership across the organisations has helped to create the right synergy to formalise a Hitachi Vantara structure that brings R&D and engineering closer to our key markets around the globe,” said Shimada.
Hitachi Vantara is pioneering the development of hybrid cloud storage that seamlessly combines on-premises and cloud computing to achieve safety, high performance, reliability, and cost advantages in processing critical, large-scale data for complex business requirements.
It recently announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to create Hitachi iQ, a new generation of transformational AI solutions that layers industry-specific capabilities on top of its AI solution stack, enabling more specific and relevant outcomes for organisations’ businesses.
