Singapore has unveiled the Digital Enterprise Blueprint (DEB) to accelerate digital transformation and empower enterprises by leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
DEB aims to establish Singapore as a nation of empowered enterprises and elevate businesses and workers in the age of AI. It will facilitate an environment for experimentation, encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to harness technology, and strengthen digital resilience and cybersecurity.
The blueprint focuses on four key areas:
- Empowering enterprises to adopt AI-enabled solutions
- Enabling enterprises to scale through cloud-based and integrated solutions
- Equipping enterprises with improved cyber resilience
- Supporting enterprises to upskill workers for digital capabilities
To empower SMEs to adopt AI, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has partnered with sector leads to co-develop Industry Digital Plans incorporating AI-enabled solutions. About 15,000 SMEs are expected to benefit from AI-enabled solutions under the SMEs Go Digital programme over the next two years.
Together with the Singapore Academy of Law, IMDA has also launched GPT-Legal, a large language model contextualised for Singapore’s legal sector. This model will automatically generate more than 15,000 summaries of unreported judgments to enable legal professionals to concentrate on higher-value work.
NURTURING AI Startups
Tribe and Digital Industry Singapore have collaborated with NVIDIA to launch the Ignition AI Accelerator initiative with the goal of nurturing 15 high-potential AI startups and providing comprehensive support for their business growth and technology development.
The four-month programme will offer a suite of support services to the selected startups, including business mentorship and guidance, technical expertise, access to venture capital networks and enterprise connections, and go-to-market strategies.
In collaboration with EnterpriseSG, NVIDIA and Tribe will offer qualified AI startups funding support through the Startup SG Tech scheme, providing capital for technology development and business growth.
The programme will also assist startups in obtaining IMDA accreditation to position them as qualified contenders for government projects and large enterprise contracts.
