PDG completes Phase One of data centre in Johor

Princeton Digital Group’s (PDG) has completed in just 12 months the Phase One of its 150MW JH1 data centre campus in Johor in Malaysia.

As one of the largest in Southeast Asia, the facility in Sedenak Tech Park provides Malaysian enterprises with access to cutting-edge AI-ready infrastructure to enable them to leverage advanced technologies and drive innovation.

“It not only signifies a significant investment in our state’s infrastructure but also brings forth immense opportunities for technological advancement and economic growth. This initiative will undoubtedly bolster Johor’s position as a hub for innovation and attract further investment, ensuring a prosperous future for our state and its people,” said Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor.

The JH1 campus incorporates sustainable technologies and next-generation design, including rooftop solar panels for renewable energy generation, aligning with Malaysia’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

PDG’s SG+ strategy enables seamless expansion of infrastructure from Singapore to Johor, providing Malaysian enterprises with enhanced connectivity and access to a broader regional network.

The data centre campus is expected to create job opportunities and foster talent development in the rapidly growing data centre industry. This will contribute to building a skilled workforce in Malaysia, benefitting both local enterprises and the broader economy.

“Data centres form the cornerstone of the digital ecosystem, facilitating the seamless flow of data, enabling generative AI, and empowering hyperscalers to innovate at unparalleled levels. JH1 is further testament to our unmatched track record of execution as a leading pan-Asian data centre operator,” said Rangu Salgame, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder of PDG.

PDG’s being accorded Malaysia Digital (MD) status validates the quality of its infrastructure and services, assuring enterprises of the highest standards of digital excellence.

The collaboration between PDG and local partners, including the energy supply agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad, ensures reliable and sustainable power supply for the data centre. Such stability is vital for enterprises that require uninterrupted digital services.
