Cybersecurity games for uni students in Australia

SECedu, the leading Australian network of educators and cyber security professionals, is organising the Australian Cybersecurity Games for university students in Australia from September 2 to 30, 2024.

The competition is designed to foster collaboration, innovation and skill development among students pursuing careers in cybersecurity. Participants will engage in various functions that simulate real-world cyber security scenarios, including cryptography, network security and web vulnerabilities.

It’s a platform for students to showcase their talents, learn from industry experts, and network with peers and professionals.

SECedu is a collaboration between UNSW Sydney and the Commonwealth Bank that brings together the expertise of Australia’s leading computer science institutions and the nation’s top cybersecurity teams to educate the future leaders in cybersecurity.

“We are thrilled to host this national competition and provide a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate their cyber security skills. “The Australian Cybersecurity Games highlights the importance of cyber security education and encourages students to push the boundaries of their knowledge and creativity,” said UNSW Professor Richard Buckland, Director of SECedu.

Participating in the competition are students from universities such as UNSW, Canberra Institute of Technology, Edith Cowan University, Griffith University, Macquarie University, Monash University, University of Melbourne, University of Tasmania, UNSW, Western Sydney University, and The University of Queensland.

Those interested in taking part can register online at the SECedu Conference website.
