VinFast boosts urban mobility with VF 5 electric cars in Indonesia

VinFast Auto has started delivering its VF 5 electric cars to Indonesian customers. It’s the second electric vehicle model VinFast has introduced in Indonesia, following the VF e34 nine months ago.

VF 5 is designed to meet the needs of urban drivers in Indonesia, particularly in the Jakarta metropolitan area. It offers a compact yet robust design with enhanced safety features compared to gasoline-powered counterparts in the same segment.

To make the VF 5 accessible to a wider range of consumers, VinFast has priced it from 286,450,000 IDR (about US$18,000) with battery purchase or 218,250,000 IDR with a battery subscription plan. Customers opting for installment plans can benefit from zero interest and no fees for the first year.

VinFast is addressing potential concerns about transitioning to electric vehicles by offering an attractive resale value guarantee. Vehicles used for six months will retain up to 90 percent of their original value, with gradual depreciation over three years. Each car comes with seven years or 160,000 kilometres for the vehicle and eight years with no distance limit for the battery.

“By introducing our dynamic urban vehicles, VinFast is committed to accompanying Indonesian customers in the green transportation revolution and contributing to building a better and more sustainable future for everyone,” said Nguyen Thuy Linh, CEO of VinFast Indonesia.
