Accenture sets up AI Refinery Engineering Hub in Singapore

Accenture has establised an AI Refinery Engineering Hub in Singapore to drive AI-led innovation and intellectual property development in Southeast Asia.

Supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), the hub is an extension of Accenture’s Center for Advanced AI in Singapore. Part of Accenture’s global US$3 billion investment to advance AI, it will offer a range of programmes designed to develop local talent and equip enterprises with AI skills and knowledge, including the design and development of foundation models and responsible AI practices.

The innovative engineering centre will serve as a collaborative space offering comprehensive generative AI solutions, enabling enterprises to conduct research, develop and implement tailored models. These custom solutions will address specific business requirements, such as enhancing operational efficiency and fostering innovation in products and services.

This hub will focus on applied research across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, government, energy, and sustainability. It will facilitate the convergence of Accenture’s worldwide AI specialists with regional researchers, fostering collaboration in crucial areas such as large language model (LLM) technology architecture, AI infrastructure design, AI/ML computational science, and the ethical application of AI.

“Artificial intelligence and generative AI present an unparalleled opportunity to reinvent businesses for profitability and growth. It’s an area that’s full of possibilities, and foundation models hold the key. The Accenture’s AI Refinery Engineering Hub will provide pathways for enterprises to make breakthroughs in the application of AI and scale it responsibly,” said Ramine Tinati, Managing Director and APAC Lead of Accenture Center for Advanced AI.

”Accenture’s AI Refinery Engineering Hub builds on the capabilities of its Center for Advanced AI, and will serve as a valuable platform for our AI talent to embark on impactful applied research. We look forward to partnerships between the Lab and our local ecosystem in creating and deploying custom AI solutions that can address global challenges and opportunities,” said Junie Fo, Vice President of Commercial and Professional Services at EDB.
