NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails boosts Agentic AI safety and trust

NVIDIA has introduced new NIM microservices for AI guardrails as part of its NeMo Guardrails collection to address concerns surrounding AI safety and reliability.

The new NIM microservices enhance the security, precision and scalability of generative AI applications, especially for enterprises deploying AI agents.

Designed to tackle key challenges in AI deployment, they include the Content Safety microservice that prevents AI from generating biased or harmful outputs to ensure ethical standards are maintained; Topic Control that keeps conversations focused on approved topics to avoid inappropriate content or digressions; and Jailbreak Detection, a crucial safeguar that protects against attempts to bypass system restrictions to maintain AI integrity.

These guardrails are particularly vital as AI rapidly transforms various business processes, with customer service seeing up to 40 percent faster issue resolution times.

NVIDIA’s initiative extends beyond just providing tools. It has publicly availed the Aegis Content Safety Dataset, which contains more than 35,000 human-annotated samples for AI safety and jailbreak attempts.

The introduction of NVIDIA Garak, an open-source toolkit for LLM vulnerability scanning, enables developers to proactively identify and address potential weaknesses in AI models.
