Telkomsel and Tencent Cloud collaborate on AI and cloud solutions

Telkomsel and Tencent Cloud have teamed up to develop AI and cloud-based solutions development.

The collaboration will leverage a range of innovative solutions for both businesses and consumers. Telkomsel will utilise AI-powered technologies such as content generation, language translation, and advanced customer verification methods like palm recognition for electronic know-your-customer (e-KYC) processes.

Additionally, Tencent Cloud will assist Telkomsel in optimising cloud expenses across public and hybrid cloud environments, enhancing operational efficiency. The partnership aims to harness cutting-edge AI capabilities to improve Telkomsel’s service offerings and streamline its technological infrastructure.

“The partnership demonstrates Telkomsel’s commitment to optimising our business operations and enhancing customer experiences through innovative digital solutions. It also aligns with our vision to accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation and improve its technology sector,” said Wong Soon Nam, Director of Planning and Transformation at Telkomsel.

“We hope the partnership will accelerate the adoption of more efficient and secure digital solutions to support digital transformation across various use cases,” said Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President of Tencent Cloud International.

The partnership follows the successful pilot testing of palm verification technology for consumer customers at Telkomsel’s GraPARI outlets in 2024. With this new agreement, the companies will extend this advanced biometric technology to the enterprise sector, integrating it into Telkomsel’s comprehensive business solutions strategy.
