Alibaba Cloud has unveiled a number of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) offerings and infrastructure upgrades to empower international developers and businesses.
These innovations include expanded access to foundational AI models, upgraded cloud infrastructure, and new support programmes to foster creativity and efficiency in AI application development.
Also introduced was Alibaba Cloud’s proprietary large language models (LLMs) under the Qwen family, including the Qwen2.5 series, which spans from seven billion to 72 billion parameters. These models are now accessible globally via APIs on the cloud company’s Model Studio generative AI (GenAI) development platform.
Multi-modal AI models such as Qwen-VL for vision understanding, Tongyi Wanxiang for visual generation, and Qwen-Audio for audio processing are available to developers worldwide. These tools aim to simplify the creation of innovative applications across industries.
Alibaba Cloud is also rolling out internationally its Container Compute Service (ACS) that integrates cloud computing resources with container technology, reducing operational costs by up to 55 percent and eliminating technical complexities.
The GenAI Empowerment Programme provides participants with free cloud credits, training workshops, co-marketing opportunities, and access to tech events. The initiative aims to accelerate GenAI projects while fostering collaboration within a broader ecosystem of innovators.
“These upgrades allow us to deliver even more secure and high-performance services that empower businesses to scale and innovate in an AI-driven world,” said Selina Yuan, President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
