Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has updated the HPE Aruba Networking Central platform with new capabilities to address the growing demand for data sovereignty and enhanced network control.
The enhancements include a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environment and an on-premises solution that can operate independently from the cloud.
They are designed to meet the needs of enterprises with strict regulatory requirements or those requiring greater control over their data, such as government agencies and enterprises handling sensitive information.
The on-premises solution, called HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises for Government, incorporates FIPS 140-2 certified hardware to meet high-security standards. These deployment options also support emerging use cases such as AI data processing in air-gapped environments.
Beyond deployment flexibility, HPE has enhanced the platform with advanced AI-powered automation tools that continuously monitor wired and wireless networks. These tools optimise performance and identify potential issues before they escalate. A fabric of AI assistants acts as virtual network architects to provide diagnostics and recommendations to improve capacity, close security gaps and resolve configuration errors.
The platform’s full-stack observability capabilities have also been expanded to include deeper telemetry insights into third-party devices through a one-year subscription powered by OpsRamp. Enhanced monitoring capabilities extend to real-time applications such as Microsoft Teams, enabling improved voice and video call quality through advanced analytics and troubleshooting.
“As data sovereignty and security needs grow across the Asia Pacific and Japan region, HPE’s expanded Aruba Networking Central provides flexible deployment options, including Virtual Private Cloud and on-premises solutions”, said Mark Ablett (top), Vice President of Asia Pacific & Japan at HPE Aruba Networking.
“This ensures local control while leveraging AI-powered optimisation, built-in security, and real-time network observability to help businesses in the region meet unique regulatory requirements and enhance network performance,” he added.
Key features of the updated platform include four deployment models — cloud-delivered SaaS, VPC, on-premises, and NaaS — that cater to diverse regulatory and operational needs.
The platform also offers always-on AI operations for proactive network monitoring and optimisation, global points of presence for faster data routing in regions such as North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and China. Other features include an enhanced telemetry data lake managing more than 5.2 million devices with anonymised data for predictive analytics, broader observability for third-party devices through OpsRamp integration with vendors like Cisco and Juniper Networks, and improved Microsoft Teams integration to boost quality of service for voice and video communications.
